Feedback from AGM held Sunday 23 March 2025

The club held it's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday 23rd March where we were able to look back on the season gone to celebrate our cricketing efforts as well as learn from experiences to help shape our strategic priorities going forward.

  • Reflections on the 2024 season and the many positives everyone should take from their contributions - the 2nd XI competing admirably in Division 2 was particularly praised
  • Club Officials remain very similar to last year though there are still some gaps to fill: Chairperson Joe Burton, Head of Cricket Qasim Ahmad, Head of Junior Cricket Nic Krzyzanowski, Treasurer Kevin Le Roux, Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer Rachael Myles, Social Manager Jordan Smith
  • Reminder given that the club has four core priorities and everyone has a responsibility to support the action groups aligned with those: Operations (our facilities), Cricket (our pathways), Membership (our people) and Planning (our governance)
  • Qasim Ahmad 1st XI Captain and Joe Burton 2nd XI Captain though recognition we all have a collective responsibility to provide on-field and off-field support to them, and indeed be leaders ourselves
  • Accounts tabled and noted that our finances are stable but further improvements are needed - so suggestions on fundraising and sponsorship opportunities welcomed
  • Membership fees remain the same as last year
  • A run-through of key playing conditions for the 2025 season was noted (and will be reiterated by coaches and captains regularly) with core focus on our code of conduct and the introduction of a Fair Play initiative within the SPCU

If you have any queries about the discussions then please just get in touch.

We also took the opportunity to undertake a draw for our Monthly Lottery and delighted to say that the winners were Denise Wallace £80, Nicola Krzyzanowska £25 and Nicola Stainthorpe £10. A huge thanks to everyone that takes part in this crucial club fundraiser!
