Glenrothes 2nd XI hosted Meigle 2nd XI at Gilvenbank Park on Saturday in the SPCU Division 2, with the visitors winning the toss and inviting Glenrothes to bat first.
A solid start from Muhammad Tayyiub (24) and Wahab Tawheedi (14) was unfortunately followed by a run of wickets, before Ben Krzyzanowski (22) and then Kevin Le Roux (12) and young Joe Myles (8 not out) added some late inning runs to see Glens finish on 132 all out in the 33rd over.
Much like the Glens 1st XI game the same day, it was to be one standout batter who dominated the innings as opener Matthew Sinclair looked to play aggressively from ball one.
A wicket each to Krzyzanowski, Tayyiub, Le Roux and Ikram Ullah with a well taken run out by Ullah gave them hope, particularly with Sinclair dismissed for 85. But Meigle were able to push on for the win to finish 135 for 5 in the 22nd over.
A huge thanks to the matchball sponsor Colin Dryburgh Painter and Decorator.
