Darren Bremner was inducted into the Glenrothes CC Hall of Fame in 2015.
Darren, known as "Des" joined the club in 1984 as a gangly young teenager.
He has consistently played at a high level over the past 30 years enjoyed many years of success in the 1st XI, terrorising batsmen with the ball, and then scoring some match winning innings with the bat.
Des is 3rd in the Club’s all time wicket taking stats, with 522 first XI wickets at an average of 17.3 in almost 3000 overs bowled and with more than 5000 runs scored at an average of 24 with a highest score of 116 is ranked number 9 in the batting records.
A multi-talented sportsman, he has played at a high level of club rugby, and now and again can hit a golf ball like Ernie Els. These days, he's more at home playing his cricket in the 2nd XI and whilst his pace may have dropped off over the years, his appetite for taking wickets certainly hasn’t.
In the last couple of seasons with 36 wickets at an average of 8.3 and a best of 5/2, it is clear that there is plenty of life in the old dog yet, and not quite time to head for the golf course.
