Ian joined the club in 1973, a classy left hand bat who scored 7823 1st XI runs at an average of 19.2 with a highest score of 98, placing him 2nd in the all time club records.

In his many years playing, he only bowled 2 overs for the 1st XI - but did take a wicket for only 10 runs - that might have been in his year as club captain in 1986.

Ian retired from cricket in 1991 and was made a Life Member of the club.
